Overcoming the Obstacles to Sustainability | AsktheCollective 026

For progress to be made in overcoming the obstacles to sustainability, we first must understand what those obstacles are and why they exist.

Topics that I have spent a lot of time considering recently as over the last few months, we have been fortunate to be engaged on a number of what we consider to be “best in class” projects.

Projects where the opportunity to help our clients change their systems, be it reduce waste or deliver a new product to the market (that solves big problems), and where the projects had the support of executives and teams who were engaged on the issues of sustainability, were committed to the process, and had the resources (time & money) that the project required.

But even with all that, these projects hit obstacles, and at our recent Sustainability Ambassador Appreciation Event in Shanghai, I had asked the participants to discuss the obstacles they had recently faced.

It was a question that I was immediately asked, before anyone else, to speak thorough the top obstacles to sustainability we had seen recently… but more importantly how to overcome them.
