Less than a week since the first “red alert” for high air pollution levels in Beijing, the government has announced its second warning. The alert will again lead to restrictions on vehicle use, factories and construction work in the capital until next Tuesday. “Here we go again!” said one Weibo user.


China again promises to clean up air ahead of 2022 Games

In the run-up to the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing and a nearby city, China promised yet one more time to reduce its air pollution, despite the fact that the government has released the first and second red alerts over the past week.
