Every NGO Should Learn to Communicate Like Operation Smile.

Without a doubt, the latest campaign from Operation Smile sets THE example for how NGOs can better communicate their cause, their role, and their impact.

The campaign absolutely KILLS IT, and going forward this will be required viewing to learn for the NGOs/ Social enterprises I work with.

“So innocent. So loved. So full of promise. So… what’s the problem?

Every 3 minutes, somewhere in the world, a child is born into the uncertainty of life with a facial deformity. One in ten will not see a first birthday. They struggle to survive, to eat, to drink like others. To be heard. To be accepted.

For these children, treatment brings hope, transformation — for the child,  for the family, for the community, for the country, for all of us. Every day, across the globe, we create change in communities. We empower people to learn, to teach, to volunteer, to make a lasting difference.

If we do our part, a 45-minute surgery + 240 dollars can transform despair into possibility.

If we lead the way, doctors throughout the world receive the training to transform isolation into acceptance.

If we don’t look away,  the power of a smile to transform a life reaches over oceans, from their hearts right back to ours.

If we help them, we can change the world.

A smile changes everything. Operation Smile.”

At Operation Smile we believe every child deserves exceptional surgical care. We believe all children deserve to be treated as if they were our own.

That’s what drives each and every one of us: our global network of medical professionals, who donate hundreds of thousands of hours toward the care of children around the world each year, and our supporters who are moved every day to make a difference in the lives of children they’ve never met.
